Sandy Who? By Jeff Sublett

We’re tough here on the New Jersey and New York waterfronts and not likely to let a storm keep us from our boats or boating. Did we take a shot? You bet we did and we’re still rebuilding and repairing but we will be ready come spring. I’ve talked to the dockmasters and General Managers along both sides of the Hudson south of the George Washington Bridge and they agree it was a tough few days. But we did a little Ali rope-a-dope, and like Ali we all came back fighting, to win, for all of us who love the river and our boats. You can bet your last good line that come spring the boats will be serviced, launched and at the docks ready for fishing, cruising, sailing and general summer fun on the Hudson. The New York Boat Show has come and gone so it’s time to act on your spring plans, ideas and products you may have picked up at the show. I’d get those spring contracts in early this year as dock space may be at a premium due to ongoing repairs and upgrades. As always, have a happy, healthy and safe boating season.
