Registering a Homemade Boat in New York OR How I’ve Come to Hate Bureaucracy by Dallas Trombley

“Over the last seven years I have developed an
interest in building boats. I love being on the Hudson River.
I’ve lived within a mile of the Hudson my entire life. My nose
tells me that it is spring because I smell the river from my
home in New Baltimore, on top of a hill just out of sight of
the water.
Being a working class guy I could never afford to buy a boat,
but I always wanted to explore the river. Maybe because I
always had to stand on docks imagining what it would be like
to stand on the other side of the river, it became a sort of
obsession of mine”
