WE NEED YOUR HELP: Sailboat Missing From West Point
UPDATE: Gotta love the power of social media! The sailboat has been found and is going to be picked up by Sea Tow and returned to West Point. Thank you all so much for your help! It wasn’t even an hour from our post that the sailboat was found!!!
A fellow boater needs our help…
Here is a picture of our sailboat. It is a 1983 Catalina 25. We personally last saw it on Wednesday August 29 moored at the South Dock at West Point. We were called last night around 6:45 by Bruce Campbell, Commodore of the West Point Yacht Club, that he had received an email stating a red sailboat had been spotted near Storm King. My husband James and my son went down to South Dock and our boat was indeed gone. They drove up to Cornwall and spoke with the Commodore of the Cornwall Yacht Club who had not seen the boat. I also spoke with the Newburgh boat launch and they had not seen the boat either. We don’t know how it got loose, who spotted the boat, or how long its been gone.
WE NEED TO SUPPORT WEST POINT ON THIS ASAP. CALL MY CELL 845-401-2699 IF YOU HAVE SEEN THIS BOAT. JOHN H. VARGO, PUBLISHER, BOATING ON THE HUDSON
